Dhekiajuli: In a major operation, Dhekiajuli Police arrested the two bike-borne miscreants who were allegedly involved in physically assaulting the Chirajuli Medical Hospital Doctor Kamal Jaal and his family members on the day of Vijaya Dashami i.e on Tuesday at Belsiri Tea Estate.

Notably, Dhekiajuli police were able to crack the case within 24 hours and arrested both the culprits involved in the incident.

The arrested miscreants were identified as Amit Debnath and Aakash Debnath.

Meanwhile, both the accused were forwarded to jail.

Earlier, speaking to the media, wife of the Doctor Kamal Jaal informed that the two bike-borne miscreants stopped their car in the middle of the road and attacked them brutally while they were heading to Belsiri Tea Estate from Dhekiajuli.

The two notorious miscreants were identified as Amit Debnath and Aakash Debnath. A case was lodged at Dhekiajuli Police Station.

Later, All Assam Tea Tribes Student Association (AATSA) condemning the incident demanded immediate arrests of the culprits within the next 24 hours.

It may be mentioned that in the past couple of months, there has been a sudden rise in attacks on doctors/medical establishments. It is worrisome to notice the impact it may have on the practice of defensive medicine or reluctance of the medical fraternity to treat patients boldly.

Also, there are several reports in the social media platforms stating that several doctors from small towns hesitate to admit a serious patient fearing the possibility of public rage and violence if they were unable to save the patient.
