GUWAHATI: Amid the festive season a man was looted-off more with than Rupees 2 lakh by miscreants in broad day light in Jayanagar area of Guwahati metropolis on Thursday 13 January,
The man who was looted off by dacoits is identified as Anil Shah, a resident of Guwahati, Assam.
It was reported that the miscreants looted a huge amount of cash which is expected to be nearly 2.18 lakhs.
The incident took place in the streets of Jayanagar location of Guwahati on Thursday 13 January.
According to sources, the man named Anil Shah had withdrawn the cash money from SBI (State Bank of India) on that particular day and was returning home.
While heading towards home a team of bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted him taking away all the money. The miscreants looted off the cash on Thursday and ran away from the street.
However, in connection with the case, the victim man later filed a complaint against the looters in the Basistha Police Station of the city.
Meanwhile, the police have initiated an inquiry into the matter to find out the dacoits and the money looted by them.
There have been a number of cases registered in the various police station of the city against broad daylight dacoity by bike-borne miscreants.
Earlier a man travelling in the city bus was looted off the money by a gang of miscreants in Guwahati. The accused gang members were later arrested by police and recovered cash money of Rupees 17,500.
The arrested persons were identified as Mintu Ali, Sunil Nath and Abul Ali all from the Adabari area of the city.
In another dacoity case in the Jatia location of Guwahati city, a group of bike-borne miscreants looted off an amount of Rupees 2 Lakh from former DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police), Shyam Sundar Talukdar.
