Birth anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha observed in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Under the auspices of Tinsukia Zila Moina Parijat and with active co-operation of Rongajan Sakha Moina Parijat and Rongajan Bishnu-Jyoti Sishu Vikash Kendra, the birth anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha was observed at a district-level in the auditorium of Bishnu-Jyoti Sishu Vikash Kendra, Rongajan on Sunday.

The programme got underway with hoisting of flag by Luit Das, president of Tinisukia Zila Moina Parijat (TZMP). It was followed by tree plantation initiated by Rashi Hazarika, a child member of Jeuti Moina Parijat of No.1 Tezipathar. The cultual programme held thereafter was inaugurated by Biren Bora, Principal of Kakapather Music College. The child artists presented Bishnu Sangeet and performed dances based on those songs. The invited child artists from different branches under Tinisukia Zila Moina Parijat performed under the direction of Manoranjan Moran, secretary of Rongajan Bishnu-Jyoti Sishu Vikash Kendra and former member, Asom Moina Parijat.

During the day, a symposium was held on the birth anniversary of Kalagiru Bishnu Prasad Rabha with Luit Das, president of TZMP, as coordinator. The organizers lamented that not much enthusiasm was shown in observing the birth and death anniversaries of Bishnu Prasad Rabha and Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala nowadays. The reassuring part of the programme was that Hemraj Rabha, son of Bishnu Prasad Rabha, extended his support to the organizers in holding such programmes in future.
