Birth Anniversary of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva to be observed in Merapani

Merapani: The 571st birth anniversary of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva will be observed for two days under the aegis of Sri Govinda Namghar on October 8 and 9, said the president of the organizing body Sarat Gogoi. The secretary of the function Pabitra Pran Gogoi added that the function will be held with the full assistance of Srimanta Anchalik Kalamancha, an eminent cultural association of Ghildhari mouza and the people of the neighboring villages. Along with Smrititarpan, sacred flag hoisting, cultural procession, and tea sapling plantation, different competitions will be arranged amidst the students, added the assistant secretary of the committee Norendra Bora.
