Biswanath Chariali Senior citizens’ meet discusses banking system and facilities

Biswanath Chariali: A meeting of Biswanath Chariali Senior Citizens’ Forum was held at Bhupendra Bhavan on Tuesday with Nityananda Gogoi in the chair. The objectives were explained by general secretary Bijay Goswami.

A training programme on banking systems and facilities was organized on the occasion. The senior citizens were imparted training on how to utilize banking facilities at home without visiting banks such as paying electricity and telephone bills through mobile applications. State Bank of India officials Pranab Saikia, Alakesh Bordoloi and Kuntal Deka Phukan and Associate Professors, Department of Computer Science, Biswanath College Tulika Lodh and Nilotpal Phukan imparted training to the senior citizens. The meet also urged the bank officials to make arrangements for a separate counter for the senior citizens in the Biswanath Chariali branch of State Bank of India and to ensure that the veterans were not harassed in the bank. The meeting also discussed several other social issues related to the Biswanath Chariali town.
