Biswanath Xahitya Xabha organizes online lecture among school going children

JAMUGURIHAT: The Kuhi sub-committee of Biswanath Zila Xahitya Xabha organized an online lecture among the school going children on Friday in memory of Dr Lila Gogoi, former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX). Due to the ongoing lockdown, the meeting was organized in online mode. A total of 15 branches under the umbrella of Biswanath district AXX had participated in the event, stated a press release. Only the students reading in classes from V to VIII were allowed to participate in the event. The online lecture for the children was presided over by Golap Bora, president of Biswanath district Xahitya Xabha while Apurba Phukan, secretary of the literary body briefed the objectives. At the beginning of the programme, Jonali Bhuyan, president of Kuhi sub-committee lit up the ceremonial lamps in front of the portrait of Dr Lila Gogoi. Dilip Kumar Barua, highlighted on the life and works of Dr Gogoi as an appointed speaker. Two students from each branch took part in the event. All the participants were asked to prepare their lectures on Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, Dr Bhupen Hazarika or Homen Borgohain. The branches including Borgang, Dubia, Komorakati, Kokila, Gohpur, Biswanath Chariali, Behali, Purbajyoti, Kalabari, Chengamari, Gopalpur, Kharoi Poriya participated in the event. All the participants' delivered lectures for three minutes. Deepak Sarma, convener of Kuhi sub-committee offered vote of thanks, stated Biswajit Sut, one of the office bearers of Kuhi sub-committee, Biswanath.
