BJP announces municipality board chairmen of Bongaigaon district

BONGAIGAON: After winning both the municipalities of Bongaigaon district, i.e. Bongaigaon Municipality and Abhayapuri Municipality in the last municipality elections, the BJP party has announced the name of the chairman of both the municipalities on Monday. Subodh Chandra Das from Ward no 16 of Bongaigaon Municipality was selected as Chairman of Bongaigaon Municipality and Ramendra Narayan Banikya from Ward No 8 of Abhayapuri Municipality was selected as chairman of Abhayapuri Municipality. Jonmani Rabha was selected as Deputy Chairman of Abhayapuri Municipality.

It is suspected that Bongaigaon Municipality will be formed by AGP-BJP alliance together and hence the name of Deputy Chairman of Bongaigaon Municipality is not yet announced. Several noted persons including Bongaigaon BJP district president Himani Adhikari, leaders such as Suken Roy, Braja Kumar Das, Sankar Biswas, Jyotirmoy Sarkar , Koustuv Das, Debajit Bose etc were present at the programme.
