LAKHIMPUR: At a time when there are only a few days for the first phase polling of Assam Legislative Assembly Election — 2021, the poll fever has reached its peak in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts. The party and independent candidates, who are in contest from all Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) under both districts, have launched massive campaign in the respective jurisdictions of their constituency in order to muster public support in their favour.
On Friday, Dr. Ranoj Kumar Pegu, the existing MLA-cum BJP-AGP-UPPL alliance candidate of No. 113 Dhemaji LAC, campaigned extensively at Harhi area under Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district, which falls under the jurisdiction of his LAC. The candidate was seen accorded welcome with Gayan-Bayan at Harhi wherein he took part in several campaign programmes organized at different places. Addressing the media persons, Dr. Ranoj Kumar Pegu said that he was working with an objective of building Dhemaji LAC as one of the best constituencies of the State.
"In the last five-year period, we have become potent enough to bring unprecedented change to the LAC. Bridge was constructed where there was none and road was constructed. We are determined to keep the trend of bringing change ahead. The common people can realize the ideology of our party. The people of Dhemaji LAC will make me winner. I am optimistic of my victory in the LAC," Dr. Pegu asserted. In addition to Harhi, Dr. Pegu launched campaign at Singia, Bhebeli, Kachutoli and Gobindaput area too on the day.
