NAGAON: Campaigning for the second phase Lok Sabha polls in the district concluded in the evening on Tuesday. On the last day of campaigning for phase two, candidates as well as party workers made a last-minute ditch to woo voters of the Nagaon parliamentary constituency. The ruling saffron party and its alliance parties on Tuesday took out colourful road shows covering all nine LACs of Nagaon Lok Sabha seat. The BJP-AGP alliance candidate for Nagaon LS seat, Rupak Sarma took part in most of those road shows where Sarma appealed to the voters of the constituency to vote him for all-round development of the constituency.

He said that the constituency faced various problems like flood, erosion and the revival of the Jagiroad Paper Mill and Kampur sugar mill. For solution to those years-old problems of the constituency or for the revival of both mills or industries, he asked the voters to vote for him this time.

He, however, claimed further that Modi during his first term as Prime Minister of the country took various initiatives for security, integrity and the all-round development of the country. On the other hand, the opposition Congress also conducted election rallies at various places in the constituency in which former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also took part. Gogoi addressed a rally held at Raha and appealed to the voters to vote in favour of the party candidate, Pradyut Bordoloi.
