BJP Leader's Involvement in Cash-for-Job Scam Linked to Tragic Death Case

GUWAHATI: In a significant twist regarding the case of Indrani Tahbildar's death, a secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha, new revelations tie BJP leader Santanu Puzari to a cash-for-job scam and his alleged role in disseminating private photos of Anurag Chaliha and Indrani. This startling information surfaced during the interrogation of the accused, Diban Deka and Anurag Chaliha.

Reports indicate that Santanu Puzari, who also holds positions in the Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC) and the Assam Football Association, was implicated by the two accused during police questioning. Moreover, it has been revealed that Santanu had been present in Jorhat, alongside Diban and Anurag, just days before Indrani's tragic demise.

The accusations against Santanu extend beyond the personal sphere, as both accused disclosed his alleged involvement in extorting large sums of money from job seekers under the guise of securing government positions. The scope of the scam widened with the recovery of approximately 50 admission cards at Anurag's residence and 40 at Aseem Chakraborty’s late residence. This has led to the compilation of an extensive list of victims, including individuals from Jorhat, Nalbari, and Guwahati, who were purportedly deceived in the name of employment opportunities.

Authorities have taken statements from four victims of the cash-for-job scheme, underscoring the gravity of the situation. Specifically, the police have accepted testimonies from around 25 candidates in the Nalbari district alone. As investigations delve deeper, the case appears to intertwine with the tragic death of Indrani Tahbildar, creating a complex web of scandal, corruption, and personal tragedy.
