KOKRAJHAR: Many leaders of Kokrajhar district BJP have deserted the party one after another. Recently, the president of Kokrajhar district BJP Raj Kumar Brahma was removed from the post of president. Later, he joined the BPF.

Again, the secretaries of Kokrajhar district BJP, Jasmin Brahma and Subarna Baruah and secretary of Mahila Marcha of Kokrajhar district BJP Dipali Brahma have resigned from their respective posts on Thursday and joined the BPF along with 495 members of BJP, UPPL and Congress on the same day at BPF’s central office, Kokrajhar. They were welcomed and felicitated by vice presidents of the BPF Kampa Borgoyary and Pramila Rani Brahma who were also former Deputy Chief of BTC and Cabinet minister of Assam.

Talking to media persons, Saburna Baruah, secretary of Kokrajhar district BJP said that they have quit the party as BJP never gives due importance to the leaders and workers of grass root level. She said all were not going well within the BJP and BJP EM Arup Kr Dey was using the party as puppets.

Baruah said the people wanted to see the transformation of BTC led by Pramod Boro but he has been running BTC at the dictate of BJP. She also alleged that Boro was not allowed to work independently but has to follow the directives of BJP.

On the other hand, the vice president of BPF and former Deputy Chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyary said the collapse of BJP had begun as nearly 500 supporters of BJP, UPPL and Congress have joined the BPF on Thursday. He said recently 1000 supporters of UPPL, BJP, Congress and KMSS had joined the BPF in a joining programme held at Bathou-Kherai in Kokrajhar. He said the BPF will come back to power without any doubt as the BJP and UPPL have failed to deliver its promises.
