GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while addressing an election rally in favour of the BJP candidate for Mangaldoi constituency Gurujyoti Das, said that the BJP led government in the last five years has worked relentlessly for the welfare of all sections of the people of the state, and there is no instance that the state witnessed any violence in the name of caste, creed, community and ethnicity.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said that moved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Bikash and Sabka Viswas, the BJP led government plunged into a development journey and as a result there have been visible changes in the living quality of all sections of the people of the state. Terming the opposition parties' allegation baseless, the BJP led government provided security of all sections including the minorities. Therefore, peace and tranquillity have become the order of the day in the state, Sonowal added.
Terming the BJP led government to be based on the absolute tenets of democratic secularism, Sonowal said that the government has exemplified its performance by taking steps for the welfare and protection of all sections of the people of the state. Realising that without education no section of the people can progress, Sonowal said that for the educational development of the girls belonging to minority community, the BJP led government has started the work in establishing nine girls' college and 20 residential schools in minority dominated areas of the state.
Earlier, Sonowal also addressed election rallies in Udlaguri, Paneri and requested the voters to ensure victory for the BJP and its alliance candidates in the election. Sonowal also addressed a poll rally in Rangia also.
