BJP wins four zila parishad seats in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI: All the four zila parishad seats under Dhekiajuli constituency were captured by BJP candidates in the panchayat polls. Fourteen gaon panchayats were captured by BJP candidates in Dhekiajuli constituency. The four zila parishad seats where BJP candidates won are Ameopur Zila Parishad (Chanika Guria), Panbari Zila Parishad (Dhanu Topno), Misamari Zila Parishad (Kamala Kurmi) and Naharbari Zila Parishad (Marami Kurmi). The 14 GP seats won by the BP are Misamari, Giagabharu, Garubandha, Bamanpukhuri, Garmara, Keherukhanda, Panbari, Chenimari, Bhotpara, Rakhyasmari, Sapai, Ameopur, Majrowmari, and Mizibari GP.

On the other hand, Congress retained only 4 GP seats in Dhekiajuli constituency. The four GP seats where Congress won are Bahbera, Naharbari, Thelamara and Batasipur gaon panchayats. In Dhekiajuli constituency, AGP fielded four candidates in four panchayats. But all the AGP candidates lost. BPF also fielded several candidates in some panchayat seats. But voters did not favour the BPF candidates.
