Boko: Guwahati MP Queen Oja was shown black flags by activists of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 in many places when she came to take part in two RCC bridge foundation-stone laying ceremonies in Boko Legislative Constituency on Saturday.

Two important RCC bridges will be constructed under PMGSY 2018-19, one in Balijhar village over Singra River and another in Kalyanpur over Kornoi River. Both bridges of length 410 meters will be constructed at an estimated cost of around Rs 11 crore.

The AASU activists showed black flags to MP Queen Oja’s convoy at Balijhar and Nagarbera under Boko Legislative constituency. They also shouted slogans against CAA and the BJP government. On the other hand, MP Oja said that everyone had the democratic right to protest. But protests could not bring development, she said. She added that more RCC bridges and roads in the Boko legislative constituency would be constructed to develop the area. Congress MLA of Boko legislative constituency, Nandita Das and former AGP MLA Jyoti Prasad Das took part as guests in both programmes.
