HAFLONG: With the rule 'Take what you need, leave what you can', a Blessing Hut was set up at Nutan Leikul village in order to assist the needy people during this pandemic.

Faced with unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19, many families have been pushed to the brink of poverty worldwide. Many daily wage earners are fighting for employment. Even in a close knit community, chances are high that a sole breadwinner of a family can no longer put food on the table. In order to protect the dignity of fellow villagers, the people of N. Leikul started a concept called the Blessing Hut as a social experiment.

The rule here is simple - 'Take what you need, leave what you can'. Anybody can donate anything, from vegetables, food, clothes, books to anything they deem fit. And anyone can take anything they need, free of cost.

A week has gone by since its opening and all it is working well. Earlier also, the chief of N Leikul village, with the help N Leikul Youth Club and Leikul villagers, had arranged space to keep local vegetables in order to help the needy in these hard times.
