Blood donation camp organized by Ramakrishna Seva Ashram, Goalpara

Goalpara: With a view to commemorate the 185th birth anniversary of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, the Ramakrishna Seva Ashram, Goalpara on Sunday organized a blood donation-cum-Japanese Encephalitis vaccination camp with the help of the health and family welfare department.

A good number of devotees and local residents gathered to celebrate the occasion and donated blood. A total of 5500 ML blood was collected through this programme.

Dr Mosharaf Hussain, senior medical and health officer and a local resident, inaugurated the programme. Dr Mirza Hanifullah, in-charge of the blood bank at Goalpara Civil Hospital, supervised the entire programme. Both the doctors spoke at length upon the necessity of the common people's awareness of Japanese Encephalitis.

AK Bhowmick, secretary of the Sewa Ashram, thanked all the blood donors and other participating dignitaries in the programme. Mukid Hussain, the local ward commissioner, was present and extended cooperation in the programme.
