Blood donation camp organized in Silchar

SILCHAR: It has been well said, 'donate blood to save life.' It is with this dictum that the youths of Kishor Sangha of Karimganj always stand up and respond to the cause of humanity. 'The blood donors are god send to the families of patients standing in need of blood'. The experience that a teacher Basab Bijoy Deb had when a person in his relation was in urgent need of blood lying on hospital bed made him feel like that. It was around midnight when a young girl of 22 years came forward to offer blood, setting the noblest example.

The exhilarated teacher called upon youths in general to donate blood and save others' life. Kishore Sangha has a place of distinction for arranging blood donation camp, earning applause from all sections of people. Social activist Debashis Chakraborty initiated discussion on various aspects of blood donation which was further elaborated by Nirupam Sharma Choudhury and Anil Nath, vice-president of Kishor Sangha. A good number of young boys quite enthusiastically volunteered to donate blood. All of them were felicitated with gamosa, citations and pen by Kishor Sangha. The president of Kishor Sangha Arup Roy and general secretary Sumanta Dey supervized the camp along with other members. Arup Roy said they have plan in future to organize such camps..
