KOKRAJHAR: The 6th Bn. SSB, Ranighuli of Kokrajhar on Monday organized free skill training for border youths and free medical camps for both men and animals in Datgari along Bhutan border.
As part of the Civic Action Programme, the SSB-Ranighuli conducted a month-long tailoring training programme for unemployed border youths from Monday. The training on tailoring was inaugurated by MLA of Sidli Jayanta Basumatary in presence of Commandant of 6th Bn. SSB Lakesh Kumar Singh, 2nd In-Command and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Saumya Haldar and other officers of the SSB at Hatisar community hall. As many as 20 border youths have enrolled for 30 days free training on tailoring.
MLA Jayanta Basumatary thanked the SSB for imparting training on tailoring for unemployed youths of border areas. He said the youths who were being imparted training on tailoring will get their livelihood through it. He called upon all youths to complete the training with their best eagerness and have good skill on tailoring to choose carrier of livelihood.
The SSB also organized free medical camp for border villagers and free veterinary camp for animals in the same place. 50 villagers and 22 animals were treated and given free medicines in the medical camp. Dr. E. Sauba Singh, Commandant of Veterinary, Dr. Prabhakar Kumar Baidhya, Deputy Commandant Veterinary and other officers of SSB attended the medical camps. Since entire Datgari and Hatisar areas of Bhutan border lack health services for men and animals, local villagers thanked the SSB for organizing free tailoring training for border youths and free medical camps.
