Board of Secondary Education, Assam Directs Schools to Hold Unit Test- 1 As Per Convenience, Releases Evaluation Formula

GUWAHATI: In a revised notification issued in view of the current COVID-19 situation, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam has allowed schools to hold Unit Test- 1 for Class IX & X as per their convenience.

Notably, earlier the exams were scheduled for August 16, 2021.

In partial modification of the earlier notification issued vide No SEBA/AB/NOTIFl/06/2018/20 dated 31st July 2021, regarding Timeline & Weightage of Internal Examinations, 2021-2022, it is hereby notified for information of all concerned that, this year due to closure of schools since 3rd week of April 2021 there has been an academic loss of the students and as schools may open from the 1st of September,2021. Therefore as given in the earlier notification regarding holding of the Unit Test-I from 16th August may be deferred and schools may hold the exam on a suitable date as per their convenience. Half Yearly, 2nd Unit Test and Annual/ Pre-Board Examination should be held as per the timeline given in the earlier Notification.

Further, for processing/declaration of results of Classes IX & X, the examination wise weightage, etc. for the six subjects i.e. English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Advanced Mathematics and Geography- details are as follows:

For the Subjects, other than the 6 subjects mentioned above, the details are as follows~: 

1. Unit Test 1 + Unit Test 2:: 50 + 50 Marks (including Practical) to the Final/Pre-Board Exam. -- 20% weightage

1. Half Yearly:: 100 Marks (including Practical) to the Final/Pre-Board Exam. -- 30% weightage

2. Annual/Pre-Board:: 100 Marks (including Practical) to the Final/Pre-Board Exam. -- 50% weightage
