JORHAT, Feb 16: The two Indian Air Force pilots who died when their microlight aircraft crashed over Majuli riverine island on Thursday, were given salute by three squadrons from 10 wing, IAF station including senior officials from 5 IAF hospital at the 10 wing IAF headquarter in presence of the AOC SK Verma and Chief Administrative Officer JS Bhallah. This was informed on Friday by Wing Commander Deepti Upadhaya, the PRO of the station.

The PRO said that the Wing Commander D Vats’ body was sent by a service aircraft to his residence at New Delhi. It is to be mentioned that Wg Co D Vats was on a temporary duty for few days at the station here who was already posted to Hindon, Gaziabad (NTR) New Delhi. While JS Paul James was an officer from 10 wing IAF station, Jorhat. His body was also sent by a service aircraft to Bangaluru. He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter.
