KOKRAJHAR: The Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) on Wednesday appealed to all political parties and district administration to ensure peaceful election in BTC to be held on December 7 and December 10.
In a statement issued by the president of BSS, Taren Boro and general secretary Prasanta Boro, it was stated that there had been reports of some election-centric stray incidents among the supporters of various political parties in different places which should be stopped. They said that in a democratic country, everybody had the right to exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner and thus, creating a chaotic situation implied violation of democratic norms of the country. They also appealed to political party leaders not to resort to provocative statements against each other.
The BSS leaders urged the district administrations of the four districts and law enforcing agencies to ensure free and fair elections. They also urged the district administration to keep strict vigil on law breakers and appealed to people to cast their votes as per their conscience.
