KOKRAJHAR: Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) on Thursday greeted two noted Bodo writers Rashmi Choudhury and Raja Debajit Basumatary for being selected for Sahitya Akademi award, 2022..
In their statement, the president of BSS Taren Boro and general secretary Prasanta Boro said it was a happy moment for the BSS that the name of two noted Bodo writers have figured for the Sahitya Akademi award for their literary contributions for the community. They said both Choudhury and Basumatary will give more contributions for Bodo literature and bring inspiration among the upcoming writers.
Four eminent writers from Assam were named for Sahitya Akademi award this year. Bodo writer Rashmi Choudhury has been chosen for the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in Bodo language for her collection of poems "Sansrini Madira" while Raja Debajit Basumatary won the Sahitya Akademi (Translation) Award for his book "Kabuliwalani Bangali Biji".
In Assamese, writer and journalist Manoj Kr Goswami won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Assamese for his book titled "Bhool Satya" while Prof. Juri Dutta, won the Sahitya Akademi (Translation) Award for "Kacharithi: Aaraya Nari". The Sahitya Akademi today announced its annual Award in 23 languages including Bodo and Assamese.
