KOKRAJHAR: Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) on Sunday slammed the government for its nefarious design to kill youths of indigenous tribal people by branding them to be the militant outfit. The Mancha is determined to move the Human Rights Commission for providing justice to the two Bodo tribal youths killed in a fake encounter.

Working president of BJSM DD Narzary while visiting the family of Jwngsar Mashahary, one of the youths killed by Kokrajhar police on Saturday morning said the two youths Jwngsar of Salguri village and Janak Brahma of Monglajhora were innocent and not involved with any militant outfit. He said Jwngsar, a father of 15 day old baby used to do small business to run his poor family and on September 17, they met with an accident at South Aflagaon and were brought to Serfanguri PS by the police team. He also claimed the OC of Serfanguri PS told the family members that there was no crime or complaint against them and are likely to be released soon but surprisingly on the next day morning both of them were killed in fake encounter.

Narzary said that the police have no right to kill innocent people who are already in police station for questioning and there is a law to justify the crime. He called upon all indigenous tribal people to be united and raise voice against excesses of police. He also said the BJSM will call High Court lawyers to visit and study the case besides move to the human rights commission.

BJSM leader also condemned the ABSU leaders for failing to visit the house of victim family and issue condemnation statement. He said the ABSU prayed for Lovelina Borgohain by lightning lamp for winning a medal in the last Olympic Games but today this student union is keeping mum on the killing of two youths of the same brothers. Narzary condemned the government for giving excess power to kill innocent indigenous people.
