Body of newborn baby recovered at Borphukuri

HOJAI: The body of a newborn baby was found near the Jamuna irrigation canal at Borphukuri, which is nearly 3 km from Hojai town, on Saturday morning.

The locals saw something suspicious in a carton and immediately informed Jugijan Police outpost. Police immediately reached the spot. As per the police, the body of the newborn baby was inside the carton. Police sent the body for post-mortem. At present, investigation is on to find out the whereabouts of the parents of the baby.
