Body of youth recovered from Kokrajhar's Longa river

Kokrajhar: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old boy drowned in Longa river of Kokrajhar district while taking a bath. The body of the youth was recovered around 3 PM on Sunday.

The youth, identified as Pankaj Brahma was a hotel management student, studying in Goa. He went to take a bath in the afternoon on Saturday and reportedly drowned in Longa river.

He belongs to Kamalsing village under Dotoma Police Station.

A team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) along with police carried out a search operation since early morning on Sunday. The team could recover the body at 3 PM on Sunday. After recovery, the body was sent for post-mortem.

B Ramchiary, the Officer-in-charge of Dotoma Police station said on Sunday, "The search operation was carried out since morning hours of today and the team managed to fish out the body in the afternoon."
