TANGLA: SDRF personnel, assisted by Tangla police, recovered the body of a middle-aged man which was floating in Naika River just below the Naika bridge in the heart of Tangla town in Udalguri district on Wednesday.

According to reports, the locals spotted the body and informed the police, who later retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to Udalguri Civil Hospital. "We have retrieved the body and the deceased has been identified as Manas Boro, an inhabitant of Botabari village under Tangla PS. We are currently investigating the matter," said a police officer.

The family members of the deceased informed that the deceased was a daily wage earner engaged as labour in a sand mining mahal and was missing since Tuesday morning.
