BONGAIGAON: In order to review the guidelines issued by the Government of Assam to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the district administration of Bongaigaon held a meeting with members of the Chambers of Commerce, Bongaigaon at the conference hall of the DC's office here on Wednesday.
Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner, Dr MS Lakshmi Priya explained the rules and regulations issued by the Health Department of the Government of Assam and instructed all to strictly adhere to the guidelines.
The DC also said that all the business establishments under Bongaigaon Municipality would have to be closed at 6 pm.
It was also informed that shops will not be allowed to accommodate more than five customers at a time and each customer should maintain a distance of 6 feet from others while waiting at the shops. While delivering goods to customers, all the employees, including the shopkeepers, should wear masks and hand gloves.
In addition, restaurants, dhabas and other food establishments will be able to serve food to their customers within the premises of their shops till 6 pm; and after 6 pm, the customers will be able to purchase food items from the shops if they wish.
No customer will be allowed to dine after 6 pm. Restaurants attached to a hotel can also serve food to outbound customers till 6 pm. On the other hand, all the guests of hotels will be allowed to take food during the normal hours. However, home delivery of essential items through e-commerce will continue after 6 pm.
Among those present in the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Sayed Tahidur Rahman, and Executive Officer, Bongaigaon Municipality, Purushottam Das.
