BONGAIGAON: Dr MS Lakshmi Priya, Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon, reviewed implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), an ambitious flagship programme of the government in Bongaigaon district, in presence of key district officials, at the DC's office conference hall on Sunday. Under JJM, it is aimed to provide safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) by 2024.

The District Water and Sanitation Mission, Bongaigaon has aimed to provide safe drinking water to 1,45,157 rural households through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) under JJM and target during this financial year is 3,4611households. Similarly, stand alone drinking water supply projects will be provided to all the needy government schools and Anganwadi centres located in rural areas under '100 Days Campaign'.

The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of all works of PWSS and stand alone piped drinking water supply system under JJM. An effective plan for expeditious implementation of the Mission was formulated in the meeting. It was decided to constitute a District-level Monitoring Committee under chairmanship of the Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner for supervision and monitoring of the schemes.
