Bongaigaon district Congress Committee observed 'Pratarana Divas'

BONGAIGAON: Bongaigaon district Congress Committee observed Pratarana Divas on Monday at Abhayapuri. Several leaders of the party, including Barpeta MP Abdul Khaleque, Dhiraj Deuri, APCC secretary, participated in the protest programme. Talking to media persons, Abdul Khaleque said that the BJP government had betrayed the people of Assam. "They assured a lot before election but did not nothing in practical. This government has failed in every aspect. Hence, we observed Pratarana Divas today," he said.

GOLAGHAT: Congress activists observed Pratarana Divas on Monday in several places of Golaghat district. The protest was observed against the ruling BJP for their false promises made to the people while coming to power six years back.

In the Golaghat District Congress office, senior Congress leader and MLA of Golaghat, Ajanta Neog and other Block Congress leaders and activists took part in the protest and raised various slogans against the BJP government at the Centre and the State for not fulfilling the promises that were mentioned in their manifesto. Golaghat LAC MLA and former PWD minister Ajanta Neog criticized Chief Minister SarbanandaSonowal for not taking any serious steps regarding the flood and erosion problem.

Similar protest programme was seen at Halmira under Khumtai constituency by Kathalguri Block Congress where All India Women Congress general secretary and former MLA of Khumtai, BismitaGogoi criticized the BJP government for the false promises made to the people.
