Bongaigaon District Police Nabbed 3 Arms Suppliers of Barpeta Ditrict

BONGAIGAON: Bongaigaon district police nabbed three arms suppliers on Tuesday night and seized a handmade pistol and five rounds of ammunition from their possession.

The nabbed arms suppliers have been identified as Inamul Haque, Rahim Ali and Kismat Ali, all residents of Debondubga village under Kalgachiya PS of Barpeta district. Talking to press Binanda Basumatary, OC, Abhayapuri PS, said that police had information about the arms suppliers. "To nab them red-handed, we laid a trap. One of our men became a customer interested in buying a pistol and made contact with Inamul Haque. When Inamul Haque came to deliver the pistol with ammunition, we nabbed him red-handed at Dumuriya area under Abhayapuri PS. On interrogation, he named the other two who were involved with him and on the basis of his confession, we nabbed Rahim Ali and Kismat Ali. All three are involved in several robbery cases, arms supply cases and other criminal activity since a long ago. A case has been registered against them and all three have been sent to jail," the OC said.
