KOKRAJHAR: Materials and Contracts department of Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR) organized a Business Partners’ Meet recently at NEDFi Convention Centre, Guwahati as a part commitment towards vendor development-cum- awareness programme on public procurement process and promoting transparency with business partners.

According to sources from the Bongaigaon Refinery, the programme was virtually inaugurated by Sukla Mistry, Director (Refineries). In her address to the august gathering Sukla stated that the very genesis of Indian Oil Corporation is rooted in fuelling the national aspirations keeping nation as its priority. The corporation’s staunch commitment to the core principles of the “Nation First Care-Innovation-Passion-Trust” led its unparalleled ascend towards its vision to be the ‘Energy of India’ and to become ‘A globally Admired Company’. These guiding principles have been the guiding star of Indian Oil, she said the intrinsic tenet of ‘Pehle Indian - Phir Oil’ has translated into significant leaps of progress for the nation. Sukla Mistry, further added that MSME share of the county’s GDP was 29.2% while the total share of exports is 43.6% which is a huge contribution.

“At Indian Oil, huge amount of material is procured every year, and in terms of our project the huge investment is going on and for any project the material values comes to the tune of 62 % to 65% and rest is under construction part i.e., 20 % to 30 % for such as huge investment the participation of all the vendors is very important. These meets are to encourage all stakeholders to participate actively in public procurements and to raise public awareness regarding Public Procurement Policies and new developments, government schemes for financial inclusion and to reinforce our bonds with our stakeholders”, she said adding that the meets also aimed at promoting vendor development particularly amongst the Micro & Small Enterprises owned by women & SC/ST community to foster entrepreneurship and start-ups and congratulated team BGR for the noble initiative.
