BONGAIGAON: Bongaigaon Refinery, in collaboration with the district administration, Chirang, organized a plant exhibition for students of Class IX and mentors under ‘Arohan Scheme’.
‘AROHAN’ is a brainchild project of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for mentoring and monitoring of talented students from the remote, rural and poor families. The Assam Government has initiated a series of ambitious programmes to improve the quality of secondary education. AROHAN is one such initiative for the identification of talented students from the remote, rural and poor families for the mentoring and monitoring of their academic career.
The programme started with a welcome address by Musukha Boro, DGM (Security) to students and mentors. Ajit Kr Sarma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, while addressing the gathering, encouraged the students to learn from the refinery exhibition and visit. Sarma also explained the ‘AROHAN’ scheme’s objective to amplify the knowledge on industrial process for the students to mould their seeking mind for a better academic career.
Speaking on the occasion, NK Barua, Executive, Director & Refinery Head, asked the students to make good use of this platform and to learn practically through interaction, working methods and best industrial practices through their industrial visit to Bongaigaon Refinery.
Narajit Basumatary, DGM (Technical Service), gave a detailed presentation of refinery process flow and overview of Bongaigaon Refinery to the students and mentors. Basumatary also replied to the questions of the students.
