MoU inked between North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) and Lakhimpur Girls' College

LAKHIMPUR: A book release programme was held in the digital classroom of Lakhimpur Girls' College on Wednesday. In the programme, a book named Women in the Changing World was released under the aegis of Women Cell and Teachers' Unit, in association with the Publication Cell of the college.
The book was released by the Principal of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia, who is also a noted poet. Principal of the college, Dr. Surajit Bhuyan delivered the welcome address in the programme which was hosted by professor Malabika Chaliha. College Management Committee vice-president Jiten Sarmah and vice-principal Kanan Sewok Khandatrorai were present in the programme along with the faculties of the college.
While delivering his lecture after releasing the book, Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia highlighted the problems and the conflict of the local women and urged the women cells and the intellectual societies of the colleges to initiate practical attempts for the eradication of their issues.
On the other hand, Dr. Surajit Bhuyan said that the book was the outcome of the creative endeavor of the college during the COVID-19 induced lockdown. He appealed to all concerned to initiate more steps to publish more books.
In the same programme, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Department of Assamese of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) and the Department of Assamese of Lakhimpur Girls' College to work together with regard to academic, research level programmes as well as other extended programmes concerned. In addition to the Principals of both colleges, Head of the Department of Assamese, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Dr. Arabinda Rajkhowa and Head of the Department of Assamese, Lakhimpur Girls' College, Hiranya Sabhapandit signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
