TEZPUR: A book of poems titled Waltzing Words, containing 87 pages written by Meenakshi Goswami, progressive writer and Principal of Chandra Nath Sarma HS School, Sonitpur was released by Principal of Tezpur College, Jyotikamal Hazarika at a function held in the conference hall of the Sonitpur Journalist Union here on Thursday in presence of social worker Hemanta Lahkar, Mukul Chutia, former Principal of CNS HS School, Sanjib Hazarika, president of Sonitpur Journalist Union, and other dignitaries. The book, dedicated to Dr Lohit Chandra Goswami and her mother Gita Goswami, contains 50 poems.

Meenakshi Goswami, a bilingual poetic personality from Assam whose poetic creations have gathered global audiences, writes poetry, short stories and articles for all the leading dailies of Northeast India and national and international journals, poetry anthologies and magazines of India. Her debut book of poems The Sensuous Zephyr was launched in Melbourne in 2014, where she was invited for poetry session. She is a recipient of many awards in recognition of all round excellence as an educationist.

Speaking on the occasion, Meenakshi gave an overview of the poems in her book and she also recited two favorite poems from her debut book of poems The Sensuous Zephyr.

Releasing the book formally, Principal of Tezpur College, Jyotikamal Hazarika said that the poems are about love, sentiment, aspirations, desires, hope, changes, expectation, dream and much more. It is about all of us, as we go through different phases in life. He also said that the poems reflect the humanistic concern of the poet towards the various ills of our society.
