Book Puran Kahini (first episode of Puran story )released at Dikhowmukh College

GAURISAGAR: “A book can change the form of a civilization. A book can play a vital role in establishment of morality and spirituality in our society. People should read a book not only for gaining knowledge but also for mental peace,” said Tuwaram Khanikar, noted orator and former professor, SMD College, Charing, while releasing the book Puran Kahini (first episode of Puran story ) written by Tukheswar Borthakur, noted educationist and former Principal of Gaurisagar Higher Secondary Industrial Institute, on Saturday at a function held at Dikhowmukh College.

The programme started with lighting of earthen lamp lit by educationist Sabharam Saud. The meeting was chaired by Pabitra Kumar Dutta, Principal in-charge of Dikhowmukh College. Jogesh Kishore Phukan, noted poet and former Principal, AHDHS School, Amguri graced the meeting as a distinguished guest. Addressing the gathering, Phukan said that to open the doors and windows of the mind, everybody should read books.
