JOYSAGAR: The 30-bedded newly-constructed Borbil (Mahmora) Primary Health Centre was formally inaugurated by Jorhat LS MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa recently.

The PHC has finally opened for the villagers, 32 years after its foundation stone was laid during the AGP government reign. Former Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta had laid the foundation stone at that time.

In the inaugural function, Mahmora MLA Jogen Mohan, Charaideo Deputy Commissioner BN Phukan, District Health Director Dr. RB Pujari, SDMO Dr. Niranjan Das and many other dignitaries were present.

Addressing the gathering, Tasa said that the newly-built PHC would be beneficial for the rural people. Now they will not have to go to other hospitals in distant places for medical care as the PHC is well-equipped to provide modern healthcare facilities.
