SILCHAR: Acting on specific input provided by the BSF Intelligence Wing around sunset of Tuesday last, troops of 1st Bn BSF, Frontier Mizoram Cachar intercepted 3 smugglers travelling in Swaraj Mazda truck on suspicion and made a search inside the vehicle. They located contraband goods which led to the seizure of 3700 packets of cigarettes worth Rs. 33,35,000.
The vehicle was detained during patrolling of NH-8 when the huge packets were in the process of being smuggled out to Bangladesh. The apprehended smugglers, all Indian nationals, have been identified as Rajaul Haque (29), the owner and driver ,Imadullah Khan (24) and Aryan Das (18 ) of Nilambazar in the district of Karimganj.
