KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) looks all set to retain the Mushalpur constituency in Baksa district. A huge election campaign meeting was held on Thursday at Medaghat in Baksa district with president of the Election Steering Committee, Baikunda Nath Barman in the chair.

Hundreds of supporters of BPF took part in the election campaign meeting of the party where local MLA Moneswar Brahma and president of BPF Women Wing, Supriya Rani Brahma addressed the meeting.

In his address, local MLA Moneswar Brahma reminded the people that there were no proper roads, medical facilities, drinking water facility and other basic infrastructure before BTC was formed. He said the people of Mushalpur had seen massive development in the region under BPF rule in the last 17.years.

BPF candidate Ansumwi Khungur Boro said that the people of Mushalpur had never seen development in the region before BTC was formed. He said that BPF would form the next council government in BTC with absolute majority. He added that BPF was the only regional party trusted by all communities.

The president of the Election Steering Committee, Baikunda Nath Barman said that only three candidates- Ansumwi Khungur Boro (BPF), Khanin Deka (GSP) and Rakesh Brahma (UPPL) were in fray in Mushalpur. He said the UPPL was not strong in Mushalpur while there was no unity among the GSP leaders. Only BPF had the possibility to win in Mushalpur.
