Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited conducts offsite mock drill

DIBRUGARH: Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) conducted an offsite mock drill in Lepetkata recently.

The scenario of this Level-III Offsite Mock Drill was major leakage of chlorine from the valve of Chlorine Tonner, after it fell off from a loading truck at BCPL, Lepetkata. This mock drill was conducted in presence of Gaurab Dutta, Field Officer (Disaster Management), Dibrugarh West Revenue Circle; SK Gurung, Inspector of Factories, Dibrugarh; and others.

General Manager in-charge (Operation), other officers and staff of BCPL actively participated in the Level-III Offsite Mock Drill along with the mutual aid teams from Oil India Limited Duliajan, Indian Oil Corporation Digboi, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Sibsagar, Assam Gas Company Limited Duliajan, BVFCL Namrup, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Digboi, Duliajan Numaligarh Pipeline Limited (DNPL) Duliajan; Assam Petrochemical Ltd (APL) and Coal India Ltd, Margherita.

The mock drill exercise was carried out to assess the preparedness of the BCPL Emergency Management System in case of an emergency. The mock drill successfully concluded, followed by a review meeting with all participating agencies.
