Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited employees contribute Rs 10 lakh to CM’s Relief Fund

DIBRUGARH: Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) has been extending support to the flood-affected people by distributing essential commodities as well aid to the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. This year, the employees have generously contributed an amount of Rs 10 lakh to the CM’s Relief Fund.

The cheque was formally handed over to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in presence of Additional Chief Secretary (Industries & Commerce Department), Ravi Capoor, by Reep Hazarika, CGM (O&M) & Asit Das, GM (HR), BCPL along with other officials. Employees of BCPL also took part in this noble cause by contributing their one day’s salary.

BCPL, in association with Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh and the local people of Madhupur, organized a free health care camp at Barogharia Janajati and Anusuchit ME School on Wednesday with a motive to extend medical services to the flood-affected people residing in the nearby villages. Free medicines were also distributed to the villagers. More than 200 villagers from nearby areas of Garudharia, Phukanbam and Madhupur availed free health check-up in the camp. In addition to medical consultation and distribution of medicines, some essential commodities to maintain a hygienic environment after flood such as phenyl bottles and bleaching powder were also distributed among the villagers.
