Guwahati: The written test for recruitment of 597 posts of Sub Inspector (Unarmed Branch) of Assam Police, which was cancelled on September 20, is now scheduled to be held on November 22, 2020, the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) informed through a press communiqué on Friday (October 2).
The SLPRB, which was recently constituted by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal following the resignation of its Chairman, also said that the examination will be conducted in an absolutely clean and transparent manner.
"The State Level Police Recruitment Board assures all applicants that the examination process will be totally transparent, where every applicant will get a fair opportunity to compete," the recruiting body wrote in its release.
A formal notification providing procedural details will be published in due course, it added.
SLPRB Assam will re-conduct the recruitment exam for 597 sub-inspector posts on November 22. Candidates will soon be able to download their admit cards online at slprbassam.in, on or before the date of the examination.
What is the pattern of the SI (UB) Assam Police written examination?
The SI (unarmed branch) written test will be of 100 marks and will be OMR based. There will be 100 questions and each question will be of 1 (one) mark. There will be a negative marking of 0.5 mark for each wrong answer by the candidate.
The paper will be divided into the following parts: Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension; Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and; and General Knowledge.
Two physical efficiency test will also be conducted for candidates who clear the first hudle, i.e, the written examination. There will be a 1,600 metres race for male candidates and 800 metres race for female candidates.
Additionally, in long jump, males have to clear 335 cm (minimum) while females will have to clear 244 cm (minimum). 3 chances will be given to the candidates and the longest valid jump will be considered.
