Breastfeeding kiosk installed at Banipur Railway Station in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: The Inner Wheel Club of Dibrugarh took a commendable initiative by installing a breastfeeding kiosk at Banipur Railway Station in Dibrugarh on Thursday.

The kiosk aims to provide a comfortable and private space for breastfeeding mothers travelling through the station. The installation and inauguration of the breastfeeding kiosk were carried out with great enthusiasm by the Club president Dibya Saraf and secretary Priyam Kasera, along with the support from other members of the club. Members of the club worked tirelessly to make this initiative a reality.

The kiosk is thoughtfully designed to offer a clean and serene environment where mothers can breastfeed their infants without any hesitation. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key members from the Railway department, the secretary of the Dibrugarh Press Club along with other media personnel, the members of the Inner Wheel Club, local authorities, and individuals.

The breastfeeding kiosk was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Railway Superintendent Srinivasan, secretary of the Dibrugarh Press Club, Anil Poddar and PDG Rotarian Kalpana Khound, signifying the club’s commitment to creating a positive impact on society.

“By establishing this breastfeeding kiosk, the Inner Wheel Club is actively promoting a nurturing environment that supports mothers in their breastfeeding journey,” said Dibya Saraf, President of the club.

“This remarkable effort by the Inner Wheel Club of Dibrugarh not only demonstrates their dedication in improving the lives of breastfeeding mothers but also sets an inspiring example for other communities to follow,” said PDG Rotarian Kalpana Khound after inaugurating the kiosk.

Priyam Kasera, secretary of the club said, “The installation and inauguration of the breastfeeding kiosk at Banipur Railway Station will undoubtedly contribute to making public spaces more inclusive and supportive of the needs of nursing mothers.”
