Kokrajhar: Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) has appealed to the Government of Assam and BTC for extending financial help to litterateur, former president of BSS, Sahitya Akademi awardee and Tagore Literary Award winner, Brajendra Kr Brahma for his medical treatment. Brahma has been undergoing treatment since September 29.

A delegation of the BSS comprising former president Kameswar Brahma, vice-presidents Dipak Kr. Basumatary and Kamala Kanta Mashahary and others visited RN Brahma Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar on Monday where Brahma is being treated to take stock of his health condition. The BSS made a humble appeal to the Government of Assam and BTC to provide required financial help to the ailing litterateur.

Former BSS president Brajendra Kr Brahma was taken to a private nursing home at Siliguri in West Bengal on September 29 after he suffered a mild stroke. He was in the ICU for a long time. Since the family is not in a position to bear the huge financial burden, he was brought back to RN Brahma Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar on November 19 after nearly two months in Siliguri. His condition is still critical. Various organizations have prayed for his early recovery in different districts across the State.
