BTC authority felicitates IAS officer, IPS officer

Kokrajhar: The BTC authority on Saturday felicitated Fwrman Brahma of Kokrajhar and Taposh Basumatary of Guwahati who became IAS and IPS officers after clearing the UPSC exam last year. Both the officers were felicitated by BTC authority at a felicitation ceremony held at the conference hall of BTC on Saturday.

The ceremony was chaired by EM Doneswar Goyary. Both were felicitated with traditional Aronai and cash Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively by BTC EM Rajib Brahma and Principal Secretary Robinson Mashahary.

In his short deliberation, the IAS officer posted in Mussouri of Uttaranchal said that to become an IAS officer one should be a meritorious student but interested candidates should put in effort and prepare themselves well. He said the syllabus for the examination was tough and they should work hard for the examination.

Brahma said that anyone who wanted to become an IAS officer should work hard. He also hoped that the upcoming generation should come forward for civil service examination. He further said that he wanted to serve in the BTC in future and added that students lacked the guidance to become an administrative officer.

IPS Taposh Basumatary from Kerala cadre said there was lack of proper guidance and inspiration to appear in the UPSC examination. He said that perseverance was the only way to achieve its goal. He also said that he would again try to appear in the UPSC examination to become Assam cadre.

The felicitation programme was also attended by secretaries, deputy secretaries and under secretaries of BTC.
