DHUBRI: Chief Executive Member of BTC Pramod Boro inaugurated Mushroom production shed for women self help group under CER project of Bongaigaon Refinery recently.

Boro ceremoniously dedicated 250 mushroom production sheds to the women of self-help group of Kokrajhar at Bishmuri village of Kokrajhar district supported by IndianOil Corporation Ltd, Bongaigaon Self Help Group (SHG).

A ceremonial meeting was held at the Army Camp of 135 Eco Task Force. In the programme, legislator of Kokrajhar, Lawrence Islary, Kokrajhar District Commissioner Varnali Deka, Director, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission Krishna Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Nayan Kumar Barua Colonel Gaurav Negi, GM(ES & Inspection), L.D Bora, DGM(Security), Musukha Boro and host of officials from IOCL BGR and Kokrajhar District Administration, were present.

Official sources informed that Bongaigaon Refinery provided financial support for the construction of 250 mushroom production sheds under CER project.

IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery is committed towards care for its nearby vicinity to bring visible impact on nearby community by adopting new initiatives such as women empowerment, clean drinking water, education, Health and Nutrition & other schemes. This scheme of mushroom production by women Self Help Group of Kokrajhar district under Corporate Environmental Responsibility project is in line with the “One District One Product (ODOP) vision of Prime Minister of India, sources said.

Executive Director & Refinery Head of IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery, Nayan Kumar Barua wished the Mushroom Movement of the women of Kokrajhar district a success and called upon them to aggressively dedicate themselves in the scheme.

Barua said that IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery feels proud in contributing towards the scheme under its Core Value of “CARE”. He also thanked Pramod Boro for dedicating the mushroom huts to the women Self Help Group of Kokrajhar.
