Speaking on the occasion, the CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro, said, “We find solutions to any problem when we follow the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi”. He said the books “My Experiments with Truth” and “Non-violent Resistance,” written by Mahatma Gandhi, show the way to a peaceful solution. The quotations of Mahatma Gandhi are utmost important for the people and inspire all, he said, adding that Gandhi’s thought was that “violence was the instrument of cowards” and that he became victorious in the freedom movement without arms and ammunition. Gandhi asked people to make them change, as no one can change nature, and therefore, there should be ‘change’ in society for the good of the people.
“We declared Kokrajhar the city of peace, but many people used to laugh if this was possible in trouble-torn Kokrajhar, and now it has become a reality as the violence and killings have gone on since the last three years”, he said.
