KOKRAKHAR: With just few days to go for the two phases of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections scheduled on December 7 and December 10, different political parties and candidates have intensified their campaigning.
BJP State president Ranjit Kumar Dass along with BJP leader and actor Jatin Bora participated in series of campaigns for party candidates in Guma, Dotma, Fakiragram and Salakati constituencies in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.
Participating in a campaign meeting at Dotma, Dass said that only BJP could bring peace and all-round development in BTC. He expressed confidence of the party forming the government in BTC winning absolutely majority.
Earlier, the BJP leader visited the house of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at his village Boragari and paid tribute to Bodofa and met the family members. Dass said it was his desire to visit the house of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma house and see his birth place. He said that Bodofa was not only aspiration for the Bodo community but the whole of Assam.
BPF candidate for Salakati constituency, Derhasat Basumatary also carried out door-to- door campaigning in his constituency promising all-round development and welfare work if voted to power.
Meanwhile, UPPL candidate from Baukhunguri constituency under Kokrajhar district, Pratibha Brahma has also intensified her electioneering activities in the constituency. She participated in a series of pocket meetings to woo the voters.
