KOKRAJHAR: Bodoland Journalists' Association on Saturday felicitated the new chief of BTC Pramod Boro through a special programme held at Kokrajhar Science College auditorium hall. Around 100 journalists attended the felicitation ceremony.

The president of the association, Jaiklong Brahma and general secretary Naba Kr. Deka felicitated the new chief of BTC.

The association submitted a memorandum to BTC chief Pramod Boro urging him to provide medical facilities, security, basic requirements and group insurance to working journalists of BTC region. They also urged Boro to give attention to solve problems of other the journalists.

In his speech, Boro said he will try to solve the grievances of the journalists of BTC. He assured that the new Government will allot an amount of Rs. 10 crore to journalist association of BTC for their welfare. He further said they will give attention to solve issues of journalists of BTC region.

Meanwhile, an executive meeting of BTC Journalists Association was held at Kokrajhar on the same day and resolved to hold its meeting in Baksa district. The association has decided to felicitate senior journalists of BTC on the occasion of annual convention and also demanded the BTC government to confer award to best working journalists on the occasion of Bodoland Day every year.
