BONGAIGAON: Total 10 organizations from different communities opposed the BTR accord. In a press meet held at the Greater Bongaigaon Press Club premises, Hiteswar Barman, advisor of All Koch-Rajbanshi Students' Union, said that the BTR accord was signed only for the interest of people of Bodo community. "All other communities of BTC area such as Koch-Rajbanshi, Adivasi, Bengali, Kalita and Goriya-Moriya have been betrayed by this accord. All other sons of the soil have been deprived just for the interest of one community. We will never agree to this accord. Moreover, the committee formed for implementation of BTR accord is also partial. No representative from other communities is included there. We demand that a high-level discussion with representatives of other communities in presence of the Chief Minister or Union Home Minister should be conducted within 7 days,. Otherwise, the government will be responsible for the coming situation," he said.

Stefen Lakra from Adivasi Students' Union said that there were several organizations in BTAD region which were under ceasefire now. "But the government never showed interest to solve their issues. We demand that these issues should be resolved shortly," he said.

Several noted persons, including Arabinda Nath from Nath-Yogi Students' Union, Sheikh Selim Patgiri from Assam Goriya-Moriya Deshi Jatiya Parishad, Rakesh Kalita from Kalita Students' Union, and other leaders were present.
