BTR deputy chief Gobinda Chandra Basumatary provides essential items in Udalguri Jail

UDALGURI: Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, deputy chief of BTC and MLA of Udalguri constituency, provided essential items in Udalguri jail on Thursday. He had visited the jail compound last week to take stock of the situation in the jail and the jail authority had requested him to provide refrigerator, ceiling fan, Xerox machine and printer, water filter and some other items.

Gobinda Chandra Basumatary fulfilled all these requirements for the well being of the jail inmates. There are 181 male prisoners and 5 female prisoners in the jail at present. Gobinda Chandra Basumatary also donated an electrical water filter with water heating arrangement to meet the needs of the COVID ward patients along with some electrical kettles to Udalguri Civil Hospital.
